We are situated on the borders of the Dordogne and the Lot et Garonne, making this the perfect holiday location with easy access to the popular sights of the Perigord as well as the peace and tranquility of this vine-growing region. La Barrat, is close to the hamlets of Pecdorat and Monmarves.
We are at the heart of a peaceful and quiet countryside and only 2 km away from the charming and very active medieval village of Issigeac, renowned for its market and its 'brocante' trade.

La Barrat consists of three attractive stone houses (one of which is occupied by the owners) restored in the perigourdin style. They are well spaced out to provide privacy, whilst retaining the feel of village life.
The main house, built in the XIVth century on a headland, dominates a magnificent valley which leads towards a peaceful lake for the enjoyment of fishermen and walkers.
The gites are very private and independent from one another. The park (around 40 acres) with trees, shrubs and flowers is the perfect country setting.
A magnificent swimming pool of 10m x 5m, constructed with your safety in mind, allows you to cool down in the summer and to take advantage of the full-sun terrace.

The pool
The swimming pool of 10m x 5m, situated in full sun, dominates the valley. It has a big terrace, equipped with sunbeds and parasols. Bordered by old stones, lavender and rosemary bushes, it is totally isolated. You will enjoy the stunning view in private. The pool is cleaned daily, when the nights are fresher, we recover it with of a cover with bubbles.
The Garden
Although each cottage has its own private garden, La Barrat extends over 40 acres of meadows and forests, where, according to the season you will find, spring flowers, orchids, daffodils, squirrels, rabbits and deers. The domain around the house allows the guests to walk where they want and find a quiet place to sit down and contemplate the landscape.
One of our daughters started a sporting horse farming. Five foals were already born in La Barrat, we have at present 7 horses which you can see on our property.
In only a 10 minutes walk down to the valley and the lake with more opportuninities for quiet walks.
